Celebrate the Day of the Dead this year with COCINA

This holiday is all about family and friends coming together to remember their loved ones who have moved on, and what better way to celebrate the people you love than to gather for a meal, a drink, have a good time and be merry!  Check out some ideas on how to make your Day of the Dead extra special, from scary good cocktails to Frida-inspired skull cupcakes.

 

The Mad Scientist Cocktail

Ingredients
1.5 oz. Vodka
3/4 oz. Honey syrup (50/50 honey & warm water)
3/4 oz. Lime Juice
2 oz. fresh Beet juice
Dash of Sugar
Rosemary sprig
Dry Ice, for effect

Directions
Combine vodka, honey syrup, lime juice, and beet juice in shaker tin.
Add ice and shake.
Strain into low ball glass.
Add dry ice for effect.
Garnish with rosemary sprig.

Pro Tips
Make a kid-friendly version without vodka or honey syrup. Drink as is or add celery or cucumber juice.
